Dr. Donnell Hegler
Dr. Donnell HeglerDr. D.L. Hegler is married to Sheila Kaye Collins and God has blessed this marriage ministry to include 4 children, 15 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren. Dr. Hegler was born in Camden, Arkansas to the late John and Bernice Hegler.Dr. Hegler graduated from Hampton High School in 1974 and attended U.A.P.B. in Pine Bluff, Arkansas where he received a B.A. Degree in English, Speech and Drama. Later he received a M.A. Degree from SAU in Magnolia, Arkansas in Clinical Counseling. In 2004 Dr. Hegler earned a PhD. from Andersonville Theological Seminary in Albany, Georgia in Clinical Pastoral Counseling and became a License Clinical Pastoral Counselor and a License Temperament Therapist from Saratoga, Florida. Dr. Hegler has also received certifications from Dallas Theological Seminary, Moody Bible Institute, Liberty Bible Institute, and LightHouse University.Dr. Hegler serves as Senior Pastor at the Douglas Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in El Dorado, Arkansas where he has served for 41 years. He served as Dean of the Friendship District Congress of Christian Education for 10 years.Dr. Hegler taught reading, writing and communication skills in the Eldorado School System for 25 years, where he retired. Dr. Hegler has also taught Christian education on the local, state, national and international levels. In addition to teaching, Dr. Hegler has facilitated workshops on the local, state, national, and international level. Dr. Hegler has served on many local, state and national boards. He is a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fat., Mu Alpha Nu Fat. and Chair of the ACJJ Board. He has served on the CJJ and OJJDP board under the leadership of President Barack Obama.Dr. Hegler's greatest accomplishment and testimony is that his name is written in the Lamb's Book of Life.
